Compassionate, patient-first orthodontic care adapted to every individual -- because every patient deserves a healthy, confident smile.
Yes. Zipper Orthodontics offers adapted care for patients with special needs. Our offices are sensory-friendly — with calm spaces, soft lighting, and flexible scheduling. We work with patients who have autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other conditions. Every treatment plan is shaped around your child's comfort and abilities.
Every patient deserves great care — no matter their ability or diagnosis. We adapt our approach to fit each person's needs.
A regular dental office can feel overwhelming for some patients. That's why our Boca Raton and Boynton Beach offices have sensory-friendly features — soft lighting, calm spaces, noise-reducing tools, and visual schedules that help patients feel safe.
Studies show that patients with special needs often have a higher need for orthodontic care, yet face more barriers to getting it. We're here to remove those barriers.
Families across Delray Beach, Coral Springs, Parkland, and Deerfield Beach trust us to provide gentle, inclusive care.

Every detail of our practice is designed to make orthodontic care comfortable and accessible.
Soft lighting, noise-reducing headphones, weighted blankets, and calm waiting areas — designed for patients who are sensitive to sounds, lights, or touch.
Appointments during quieter times of the day with extra time built in. No rush, no pressure, and pre-visit tours to build familiarity.
Every treatment plan is customized to the patient's abilities, comfort level, and sensory preferences. No one-size-fits-all approach.
Longer appointment times, frequent breaks, positive reinforcement, and behavior guidance techniques. We never rush -- we work at your child's pace.
Clear updates, guidance, and support before, during, and after each visit. Consistent staff assignments so your child sees familiar faces.
All materials are BPA-free and FDA-cleared — safe for every patient, especially those with chemical sensitivities.
Every visit is built around your child's comfort — not a fixed schedule. Here's how it works.
Step 1 — Comfort Visit: Your child explores the office, meets the team, and gets comfortable. No clinical work on the first visit unless everyone is ready.
Step 2 — Evaluation: When your child is ready, Dr. Zipper does a full exam at their pace. We use the iTero digital scanner — no messy putty, no gagging. We take breaks as needed.
Step 3 — Custom Plan: We build a treatment plan around your child's needs, comfort level, and sensory preferences. We walk parents through every detail so there are no surprises.
Step 4 — Gentle Treatment: During treatment, we offer visual schedules, headphones, weighted blankets, and frequent breaks. Visits are booked at quieter times with extra time built in.
Step 5 — Ongoing Support: We stay in close contact with parents, caregivers, and other doctors throughout treatment.
We provide adapted care for patients with a wide range of conditions.
Every patient is treated with care, patience, and respect:
Yes. Dr. Zipper and our team work with patients who have autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, sensory disorders, and other conditions. We adapt our approach for every patient to make visits comfortable and positive.
Our offices have soft lighting, noise-reducing headphones, weighted blankets, and calm waiting areas. We introduce tools slowly, use visual schedules, and let patients set the pace so they feel safe and in control.
That's completely okay. We book longer visits, take frequent breaks, and use positive reinforcement. We never rush — we work at your child's pace, even if it takes multiple visits to finish a single step.
Orthodontic care rarely needs sedation. But if it's needed for a specific step, we can work with your child's dentist or doctor. In most cases, our patience-first approach helps patients finish treatment without it.
Yes. All our materials are BPA-free and FDA-cleared — safe for every patient, especially those with chemical sensitivities. We also use digital scanning instead of chemical putty trays.
Yes. We work closely with your child's dentist, doctors, and therapists to make sure orthodontic care fits into their overall health plan. Good communication between providers means better results for your family.
It depends on the person. Some patients do well with clear aligners, while others do better with braces. Dr. Zipper looks at each patient's needs, hand skills, and comfort level to find the best fit.
